I know that most people looking at my posts probably aren’t as excited about these ordinary signs and symbols as I am - but I genuinely get a thrill when I find these things - there are so many different ways to communicate ideas or brands - it seems in the 21st century we have become a bit safe and pedestrian with our choices - I mean look at that Pontiac logo! 😍😍😍😍
Some beautiful reference and research materials picked up from Portland Junk stores - America really is the home of beautiful logos and of ordinary but utterly stunning ephemera.

Very funny, warm and again beautifully honest! We are both so excited to share these two very special episodes in the coming months with you all! Within an hour of being in the US I have already seen more great logos and signage than I saw in a whole week in Italy
When I was in my early 20’s, armed with a lot of enthusiasm and some basic design skills (I studied fine art not graphics) I started a record label with some of my closest friends - we put in our own time and money, and the act of amplifying the great work of talented musicians was nourishment enough, we didn’t need to break even or have massive success (though that would have been nice) - we had so many adventures in five years and met so many amazing people - and whilst these ropey relics aren’t design classics they inspired me to share the idea that everyone should do some things just for the love of them, and do them with friends, as life is about having adventures and making memories, real memories, not just the ones that Facebook reminds you to share!

Watching Woodstock for the first time In many many years. Totally moving, not for the performances or the mass gathering of gentle, likeminded, hopeful kids... but because of the incredible interviews with the older generations, the cops, the local townsfolk - often demonised in nostalgic hindsight but here they are shown as kind and understanding human beings letting the youth have their rights of passage and supporting and feeding them along the way!
